We recently bought and moved into the Yorke & Curtis Building at 303 Sid Snyder Drive West a spectacular setting for a new kite museum. Steps from the boardwalk, it offers a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. We need to raise $100,000 to renovate the space, furnish it and to create new exhibits. Only then, will we truly be a "world-class" kite museum.
The good news is that you can help.
We've already raised 90% of our goal, but the 'last' 10% is always the hardest to raize. If everyone pitches in, we can finish the job. Cash, in-kind support and plain old elbow grease are all needed. Remember, we're raising money for your museum.
- The 'new' 10,360 square foot space is handicap-accessiblel and will provide exhibits, arts and education programs for children and adults.
- The 'new World Kite Museum's collection of 1500+ kites from around the world is not equaled anywhere in the United States.
- The 'new' World Kite Museum will become a cultural center enriching community life for residnts and visitors alike.
- The 'new' World Kite Museum will bring economic vitality to the region and establish the Long Beach Peninsula as a year-round tourist destination.
